NDLA Mileage Reimbursement Information

Since the 2001 legislative session, NDLA has budgeted funds to reimburse NDLA members for mileage costs when they testify at legislative hearings.

If your parent institution cannot reimburse mileage, you have the opportunity to apply for compensation through NDLA.

NDLA has limited funds for this purpose. The reimbursement rate is $0.55 per mile, up to $100 per trip.

Criteria for reimbursement:

1. Must be a current NDLA member

2. Must obtain approval from Legislative Committee Chair prior to testifying, including amount of reimbursement you plan to request

3. Complete the request for payment form found on the NDLA web site (http://ndlaonline.org/Forms/expenseform.pdf) after testifying

4. Send form to the NDLA Treasurer, including documentation of prior approval from the Legislative Committee Chair

The Legislative Committee will keep you posted as to those bills under consideration that impact libraries. And you'll be alerted to hearing dates and times. You'll also want to tap the legislative branch home page at http://www.legis.nd.gov/ which provides hearing schedules, copies of bills and their status.
